ways to win

Aside from Christmas, I don’t really “do” holidays.  Halloween is probably my least favorite, but Valentine’s Day is a close second.  This year, however, I’m hoping you’ll show some love and join in Ari’s A Wish After Midnight launch!  She’s hosting a great giveaway, and has been a strong supporter of my book from the very start, so please do spread the word and/or join in!  I’m also holding a giveaway on Goodreads, but so far over 750 people have applied to win THREE copoies of Wish.  Your odds of winning are greater over at Reading in Color…

I’ve been feeling kind of blase about the official release date—just 5 days away!  Though this morning I got an email from an agency in Korea that’s interested in acquiring foreign rights to Wish, and that’s pretty cool.  I’m making a list of local bookstores; I might stop by with postcards, flyers, and my camera—just in case a copy’s already on the shelf!  Sadly, it can be a real challenge to get some indie bookstores to carry black-authored books.  I’ve already been snubbed by one store in Ft. Greene, but I’m trying to remain optimistic about the other stores in Park Slope.  And, of course, I’m hoping we’ll see you at Brownstone Books on February 27th—I’ll be doing a joint reading with none other than Olugbemisola Rhuday-Perkovich, so save the date!
