London calling…
It feels like London today because Brooklyn is gray and gloomy with that cold sort of damp that chills you right to the bone…I remember being in London once in January and many houses had window boxes filled with pansies! We were shivering and huddling together for warmth, and Londoners were running through Kensington Park in shorts…hardy people, hardy flowers! Never did get why it was supposed to be insulting to be called a “pansy”…they’re gorgeous and can thrive even in harsh conditions.
I’m the worst guest ever; my friend Stefanie’s cooking for Thanksgiving and all I had to do was bring a pie and some beverages…so far I’ve opened both the sparkling cranberry juice AND the lactose-free egg nog…some guest! But while I was out I also picked up the December issue of EBONY (which has eight different covers, I think). BIRD is featured in the “Kids’ Corner”:
