mitts
Am way too tired to write about this long day, but just wanted to share this photo of the mittens my grandmother knit for me and my sister when we were babies…I’m not good in social situations, and my mother’s anxiety was off the charts today as well—not a great combination. We got off to a rocky start, but the wedding was lovely, and afterward we had dinner with my sister. Then when we finally got home, my mother called me into her room and randomly asked if I wanted any of these pairs of mittens that my grandmother made for us. My sister’s name starts with a K and so does mine: I’m Kristin Rosetta, but go by Zetta now. But back in the day…we had our K mitts, and before then we had the mitts with no thumbs, which my mother always reminds me I used to take off and drop in the snow (forcing us to retrace our steps in brutal Canadian winter weather)…Family is a blessing. I’ve so often thought of it as a curse, but I’m starting to change the way I look at things…
