The Odyssey

Greetings! Last night was the launch party for Bird at The Odyssey–the largest independently owned bookstore in the Springfield Valley. The party was really pulled together by my Chair, Holly Hanson, who insisted (despite my protestations) that we needed to celebrate Bird’s release at Mt. Holyoke. Nikky Finney, renowned poet and artist-in-residence at Smith College, was there, and I got to socialize with many of my favorite colleagues–a rare opportunity! A big thanks to Holly, and all the folks who ventured out on such a cold night–especially my students, who have plenty of school work to keep them occupied, and have to listen to me talk all through class already!
