stop the presses–again!

Good grief.  So now I’m doing internet research on Henry Highland Garnet, founder of the African Civilization Society, and it looks like I was right–he DID advocate for emigration to Liberia, Mexico, and the Caribbean.  I think.  Just to be on the safe side, I just emailed Lynda, my African American history scholar, friend, and fellow prof at Mt Holyoke.  Maybe I should trust myself more–I’m not generally sloppy with the facts, though everyone makes mistakes, even when you have a PhD (though people sometimes expect you to be perfect).  So maybe I’ll just take a deep breath, wait to hear Lynda’s reply, and hit the library tomorrow to make sure I’ve got my facts straight…
