deep cover
Have you ever tried to hide the cover of a book when you’re reading in public? If so, read Don Tate‘s comments about reading without shame in his Writers Against Racism interview. We’ve got a lot of other great kidlit people coming up: Francisco X. Stork, David Yoo, Mitali Perkins, Sofia Quintero, Lyn Miller-Lachmann, Debbie Reese, Vincent Schilling, Rukhsana Khan, Tanita S. Davis, Edi Campbell, and Carla Pacis!
I thought I’d have a review up by now, but I’m struggling to get into Colson Whitehead’s Sag Harbor and might not finish it…I never got through John Henry Days, either, but hoped this might be better since it’s told from a teenager’s point of view. But it’s still Colson…I’m too impatient for his prose–get to the point already!! Back to the library today…
