sunshine

We had sunshine yesterday and that made it easier to get up and out of the house early in the morning…I’m not really a morning person, you know—I get up fairly early, but don’t speak for several hours if I can help it, so giving a presentation at 9am is hard sometimes!  But not when the students are so eager and earnest, and I’m so warmly welcomed by their teacher and principal.  My presentations ended with this lovely bouquet being presented by a student; I also got handmade soap and a surprise donation—and next week I go back to interview the students about Wish and their feelings about reading in general.  We did one quick demo interview: “Is ghetto a place, or a mentality?”  Very interesting responses…if anyone has a permission slip they use to secure parental consent for posting video/images of children online, please let me know.
